Javokhir Sindarov holds a clear edge in the 2026 World Chess Championship market due to his dominant performance at the recent FIDE Candidates Tournament in Cyprus, where he finished unbeaten with a record 10/14 score and six wins. The 20-year-old Uzbek grandmaster has carried strong classical momentum into the title match against defending champion Gukesh Dommaraju, who has struggled with inconsistent results and multiple losses in events such as the Prague Chess Festival and Menorca Masters. Traders appear to be pricing in Sindarov’s superior recent form and head-to-head resilience in faster time controls, while noting Gukesh’s ongoing adjustment period following his 2024 title win. The matchup features two of the game’s youngest top players, setting up a best-of-14 classical contest later this year.
