In the Bordeaux Challenger second-round clash on clay, No. 68 Raphael Collignon holds a slight edge over No. 85 Alexander Shevchenko, bolstered by their lone head-to-head meeting that Collignon won. Both advanced via first-round victories yesterday—Collignon dispatching Geoffrey Blancaneaux 2-0 in straight sets, while Shevchenko outlasted Hugo Gaston 6-1, 3-6, 6-1—showcasing solid clay form amid the tournament's French-heavy field. Collignon's momentum stems from Miami upsets over Denis Shapovalov and Grigor Dimitrov earlier this year, contrasting Shevchenko's recent ATP-level struggles like a second-round loss to Karen Khachanov. Home-crowd proximity for the Belgian and surface familiarity could sway trader sentiment, though Shevchenko's resilience keeps it competitive.
