Higher component costs, especially for advanced memory chips, are the main factor pushing trader expectations toward a notable price increase for the iPhone 18 Pro. Recent analyses from Counterpoint Research and reports citing Tim Cook indicate the bill of materials for Pro models could rise by nearly $300 compared to the iPhone 17 Pro, with NAND flash alone exceeding prior totals. Analysts project a $200–$300 hike, potentially bringing the base iPhone 18 Pro to around $1,399. Apple has not confirmed pricing, but the company’s history of passing along premium hardware upgrades supports this outlook. The September 9, 2026 launch event remains the key near-term catalyst that could clarify base storage pricing and storage tiers before the September 18 on-sale date.
