FIFA and Global Citizen recently announced Madonna, Shakira, and BTS as co-headliners for the inaugural halftime show at the 2026 FIFA World Cup final on July 19 at MetLife Stadium. Curated by Coldplay’s Chris Martin and produced in partnership with Live Nation, the performance marks the first time the World Cup final features an extended entertainment segment modeled after major league spectacles. The timing aligns with BTS’s post-military service comeback, Shakira’s ongoing ties to global events including the official tournament song, and Madonna’s planned album promotion. This development sets the baseline for market expectations around confirmed performers while leaving room for additional undercard acts or potential last-minute adjustments tied to scheduling or health factors.
