**Ongoing right-wrist tenosynovitis has sidelined Carlos Alcaraz since his April withdrawal from the Barcelona Open, forcing him to miss Roland Garros, Wimbledon, and the Canadian Open.** Recent developments include his withdrawal from the Cincinnati Masters 1000 the week of August 4–5, eliminating his primary hard-court warm-up and leaving the Winston-Salem Open as the only remaining pre-US Open option—though participation there appears unlikely. Alcaraz remains on the official US Open entry list as defending champion and continues low-intensity hitting, with medical clearance still pending. The absence of competitive matches for roughly four months raises legitimate questions about match fitness and re-injury risk, which traders weigh against his strong historical record on hard courts and the typical caution around Grand Slam commitments. This balance of confirmed injury setbacks and the possibility of a cautious return underpins the current 64.5% implied probability for a “Yes” outcome.

Carlos Alcaraz is considered to have "played" if he takes the court and play begins in any of his main-draw singles matches. Being entered in the draw, or an opponent's retirement or walkover before any play begins, does not by itself count as having played. If Alcaraz begins a match and then retires or is defaulted, this market will resolve "Yes."
If the tournament is postponed beyond September 27, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or canceled before Alcaraz plays a main-draw singles match, this market will resolve "No."
The resolution source for this market will be official information from the US Open (usopen.org); however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
