Israel’s July 2026 cabinet approval for an initial 200-troop contingent from Morocco, Albania, Kosovo, Kazakhstan, and others, paired with US notification of $206 million in funding, advanced the framework, yet Prime Minister Netanyahu has conditioned full entry and reconstruction on Hamas disarmament first. Recent August talks led by envoy Jared Kushner produced no breakthrough, while Israeli strikes continued amid reported ceasefire violations and mediator criticism from Turkey, Egypt, and Qatar. Deployment timelines and sequencing disputes between phased demilitarization and withdrawal continue to shape assessments of near-term intervention prospects.
