PSG enter the 2026-27 Ligue 1 campaign as overwhelming favorites to claim a sixth straight title after winning the prior five and reaching recent Champions League success, virtually locking in one automatic league-phase berth. The remaining top-four spots hinge on the battle among Marseille, Monaco, Lens, Lille, and Lyon, with pre-season models projecting Lille and Lens at the front of that group on the strength of squad depth and recent European experience. Monaco and Marseille carry strong historical records in top-four finishes, while promoted sides like Angers and Auxerre face steeper challenges against established mid-table competition. The season opens on August 21, with early results and injury updates likely shifting implied probabilities quickly in this closely contested qualification race.
