Recent developments have centered on the San Francisco 49ers voiding roughly $27 million in 2026 guarantees from Brandon Aiyuk’s contract last summer after he missed the entire 2025 season with a torn ACL and failed to meet participation terms. General manager John Lynch has repeatedly signaled the team is open to a trade and expects Aiyuk to play elsewhere, yet no deal has materialized through the 2026 draft or early offseason, leaving the receiver’s low base salary and September option bonus as leverage that favors the 49ers retaining him in the near term. Multiple teams remain interested in acquiring the former Arizona State product, creating a broad distribution of probabilities across potential landing spots while the wisdom of crowds assigns the highest implied likelihood to San Francisco until a trade or release clarifies his destination.
