The recent agreement between David Njoku and the Los Angeles Chargers on a one-year contract worth up to $8 million has anchored trader consensus around the tight end suiting up there for the 2026 season. After nine years with the Cleveland Browns that included a Pro Bowl selection and consistent production alongside multiple quarterbacks, the 29-year-old adds veteran receiving and blocking depth to an already crowded Chargers tight-end room featuring Oronde Gadsden II and Charlie Kolar. The move pairs him with Justin Herbert and offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel, creating an immediate fit that explains the market’s heavy lean. Still, the one-year structure leaves room for outcomes that could shift positioning, including injury setbacks, roster cuts after training camp, or strong performance prompting a longer-term extension elsewhere.
