This market will resolve to "Yes" if the team winning 1st place at the 2026 League of Legends World Championship (Worlds 2026), currently scheduled for October 15 to November 14, 2026, is a Western team. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". A Western team is a team that qualified for the tournament through the LEC (Europe / EMEA), the LCS (North America), or the CBLOL (Brazil). Teams that qualified through the LCK (South Korea), the LPL (China), or the LCP (Asia-Pacific) are not Western teams. If the winner of Worlds 2026 is not determined by November 28, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or the tournament is canceled or postponed past that date, this market will resolve to "No". The resolution source for this market will be official information from the tournament organizer, Riot Games, via the LoL Esports website (https://lolesports.com). However, a consensus of credible reporting (e.g., Liquipedia at https://liquipedia.net/leagueoflegends/World_Championship/2026) may also be used.**Eastern dominance in League of Legends esports underpins the 89% implied probability against a Western winner at Worlds 2026.** LCK and LPL squads have claimed every title since 2018, with LCK teams securing 10 championships overall and consistent success in knockout stages against LPL opposition. For 2026, MSI champion Hanwha Life Esports, alongside Gen.G, T1, and Dplus KIA from the LCK plus a deep LPL field led by Bilibili Gaming, enter as the clear frontrunners based on split results and international showings. Western representatives—primarily G2 Esports from the LEC and top LCS sides such as LYON—have shown occasional resilience, including G2’s strong MSI run, yet historically falter in best-of series against Eastern mechanical and drafting edges. The expanded 19-team field and North American hosting provide no structural shift to alter this regional hierarchy.
