Recent leaks and pre-order confirmations have established GTA 6's standard edition at $79.99, aligning with the current $70–$80 AAA benchmark that replaced the long-standing $60 price point. Rockstar's strategy prioritizes mass-market accessibility and day-one sales volume over premium base pricing, consistent with industry patterns from recent blockbusters and the studio's history of broad consumer reach. This evidence has driven the 97.5% "No" consensus among traders, who view a $100+ standard tag as a significant departure from verified retailer data and historical precedent. Realistic upset scenarios remain limited but could include an unexpected last-minute base-price adjustment or a market reinterpretation if deluxe editions with extras are treated as the default resolution trigger.
