Arthur Fils and Cameron Norrie meet in the National Bank Open round of 16 on hard courts in Montreal, where Norrie’s straight-sets upset of third seed Alex de Minaur has elevated trader expectations for the Brit. Norrie, now the British number one again after climbing the live rankings, enters with strong recent momentum on the surface and a competitive record in Masters events. Fils, an 18th seed, advanced comfortably past Mariano Navone but carries a history of back and hip issues that sidelined him for much of the prior season; he has shown flashes of elite baseline power and court coverage when healthy. Head-to-head and stylistic contrasts—Fils’ athleticism versus Norrie’s consistency—plus both players’ hard-court records and recent form shape the closely watched matchup.
