Alexander Blockx enters the Montreal second round as the higher-ranked and seeded player at No. 27, facing Jaume Munar in their first career meeting on outdoor hard courts. Blockx has posted a strong 67% win rate on the surface this season while Munar arrives off a straight-sets first-round victory but holds a 10-14 record for 2026 overall. The 29-year-old Spaniard’s recent results show inconsistency across surfaces, whereas the younger Belgian has climbed steadily in the rankings. Home-crowd support and rest considerations remain minimal on this quick turnaround, leaving surface preference, recent hard-court form, and ranking edge as the primary drivers reflected in current trader pricing.
