Abedallah Shelbayh faces Dušan Lajović in the Lexington Challenger quarterfinals on outdoor hard courts. The younger Jordanian has shown strong recent form, advancing through qualifying with straight-set wins and building momentum on the surface after earlier hard-court appearances. Lajovic, the veteran Serbian ranked near 149, secured his round-of-32 spot with a three-set victory over James McCabe but carries a modest 2-7 record for 2026 across varied surfaces. Key factors include Shelbayh’s aggressive baseline game suiting the fast hard courts, Lajovic’s greater match experience in deciding sets, and any fatigue from the older player’s schedule. No prior head-to-head exists, leaving the outcome dependent on current fitness and execution under pressure.
