Alexander Zverev enters the National Bank Open second-round matchup as the clear market favorite against Tallon Griekspoor on Montreal hard courts, buoyed by his No. 2 ranking, 2017 title at the event, and dominant 8-2 head-to-head edge. Zverev has managed past back issues that forced a May withdrawal from Hamburg and an Achilles concern at the Australian Open, with no fresh injury reports ahead of this start. Griekspoor brings recent grass-court wins including Rotterdam but faces a steep stylistic and ranking gap on this surface. Traders weigh Zverev’s experience and consistency against Griekspoor’s potential for competitive sets in best-of-three format.
