Sunam Jeong faces Meng Yi Chen in the semifinals of the ITF W15 Tianjin 3 on outdoor hard courts, with both players advancing through the draw in this $15,000 event. The 30-year-old South Korean, a former top-400 player now ranked near 1530, arrives after a recent quarterfinal win and a strong run of results on the Chinese hard-court swing. The 23-year-old Chinese player, currently ranked around 868, secured her semifinal berth with a straight-sets victory over Jiangxue Han. The pair has no prior head-to-head record. Key variables include Jeong’s greater professional experience against Chen’s solid recent form and home-country support on a surface favoring consistent baseline play.
