Grigoriy Lomakin enters the ITF M25 Taipei qualifying match as the clear favorite against local player Tin Chen, reflecting his superior ATP ranking near 900 and status as the fifth seed in the draw. Lomakin brings greater experience from consistent ITF and Challenger appearances on hard courts, while Chen, ranked outside the top 1600, competes primarily at lower levels with limited recent success against stronger opposition. The hard-court surface favors Lomakin’s baseline game and prior results in similar events, though Chen could benefit from home support and familiarity with Taipei conditions. No head-to-head history exists between the pair, leaving the outcome dependent on current form and execution in this early-round encounter.
