Ryuki Matsuda enters the ITF M25 Taipei hard-court match as the clear favorite against Chen-Yu Lu, reflecting his higher ATP ranking near 800 and No. 3 seeding in the draw. The Japanese player brings greater experience at this Futures level, with recent ITF results showing consistent participation despite mixed outcomes. Lu, a 22-year-old Taiwanese player with a career-high ranking around 1582, benefits from home-country support and familiarity with local conditions but faces a significant ranking gap. No reported injuries, withdrawals, or major form shifts have altered the matchup ahead of the August 17 start, though surface-specific head-to-head data remains limited. Traders note the disparity in professional results as the primary driver of current implied probabilities.
