Louis Wessels enters this M25 Oldenzaal clay-court second-round matchup as the clear favorite due to his superior ATP ranking near 500, deeper experience with 11 career ITF titles, and stronger historical clay record exceeding 58 percent wins. Recent results show Wessels maintaining solid form through multiple clay events in 2026, including deep runs and victories over comparable opposition. Elgin Khoeblal, ranked outside the top 800 and without titles, brings local familiarity as a Dutch player but has posted inconsistent results with frequent early exits against higher-level foes. No prior head-to-head exists, leaving serve-return trends and break-point efficiency as the main variables that could influence the outcome on the slower surface.
