Baltimore Orioles (65-69) enter the late-August series against the last-place Colorado Rockies (52-83) with a clear edge driven by superior starting pitching and overall team depth. Kyle Bradish (7-12, 4.03 ERA) anchors the matchup against weaker Rockies options like Tanner Gordon, while Baltimore’s offense features power contributors such as Pete Alonso amid a tight AL wild-card race. Multiple Orioles injuries, including Tyler O’Neill’s shoulder inflammation and Blaze Alexander’s hand issue, create lineup uncertainty on the road at hitter-friendly Coors Field. The Rockies continue to battle poor run prevention and a depleted rotation hampered by Kyle Freeland’s neck injury and other absences, limiting their ability to capitalize on home conditions. Recent Orioles form includes competitive road results that keep faint playoff hopes alive.
