Both teams enter the three-game series at Target Field with fading playoff hopes in a weak AL Central, as the Twins sit at 64-71 and the Tigers at 62-72. Minnesota has dropped three straight while managing Byron Buxton’s right hip issue and integrating top prospect Walker Jenkins, who debuted recently after a strong Triple-A stretch. Detroit continues to battle multiple injuries, including to Kerry Carpenter and Riley Greene, alongside inconsistent recent results. Starting pitching, bullpen reliability, and home-field factors at Target Field will shape outcomes, with both clubs needing strong finishes in their remaining AL Central games to stay mathematically alive.
