St. Louis Cardinals (63-61) hold a clear edge over the Cincinnati Reds (59-64) in the NL Central standings, sitting 3.5 games ahead after a strong post-All-Star stretch that includes a 2-1 win in the opener of their current Great American Ball Park series. The Cardinals' recent form, bullpen stability, and higher run differential contrast with the Reds' inconsistent offense and multiple losing streaks. Pitching matchups, home-field factors for Cincinnati, and any late roster adjustments will shape the next games, while both clubs eye wild-card positioning with limited schedule flexibility remaining.
