St. Louis Cardinals hold a clear edge over the Colorado Rockies heading into their September 4-6 series at Coors Field, where both clubs sit well out of playoff contention. The Cardinals (68-70) feature stronger overall pitching depth despite recent losses and injuries to Masyn Winn, Everson Pereira, and Andre Pallante, while the Rockies (52-85) rank near the bottom in ERA and have dropped eight of their last ten. High-altitude offense at Coors favors hitters, but Colorado’s poor home record and depleted rotation limit their upside. Recent interleague results and roster stability give traders consensus favoring the Cardinals in individual games or the series.
