Naomi Osaka and Elena Rybakina meet for the first time in the National Bank Open quarterfinals on hard courts in Toronto. The second-seeded Rybakina enters with superior overall form, a 2026 Australian Open title, multiple titles this season, and a stronger year-to-date record, supporting her status as the consensus favorite in trader pricing. Osaka, the 11th seed, has compiled an efficient run through the draw with straight-set victories over Panna Udvardy, Elise Mertens, and Leylah Fernandez, arriving relatively fresh after fewer extended matches. With no head-to-head history, recent hard-court results, serve dominance, and break-point conversion rates will likely shape the outcome more than historical patterns.
