Elina Svitolina enters the National Bank Open Round of 16 with a strong 4-1 head-to-head edge over Amanda Anisimova, including multiple hard-court victories, while posting a dominant 35-10 record in 2026 and a convincing third-round win over Anastasia Potapova. The 2017 Toronto champion has reached deep runs at WTA 1000 events this season and benefits from extensive experience at the venue on outdoor hard courts. Anisimova, the 2024 runner-up here and currently ranked near the top 10, brings aggressive baseline power and solid recent results but trails in season-long consistency and direct matchups. Both players carry top-10 seeding, with the outcome likely hinging on serve effectiveness, return play, and handling of pressure in a high-stakes elimination match.
