Letitia Plummer holds a commanding position in the 2026 Harris County Judge race due to the county's longstanding Democratic voter base and her victory in the May Democratic primary runoff against former Houston Mayor Annise Parker. As the Democratic nominee and former city council member, she benefits from endorsements by local party figures and recent internal polling showing a double-digit lead over Republican Orlando Sanchez. Sanchez, a former county treasurer who won his party's runoff, faces structural challenges in a jurisdiction where Democratic candidates have prevailed in recent cycles. A late shift in turnout patterns or major campaign developments could still narrow the margin before the November 3 general election.
