Letitia Plummer holds a commanding lead in the 2026 Harris County Judge race due to the county's consistent Democratic performance in recent cycles and her 16-point advantage in an August internal poll showing her at 53% to Orlando Sanchez's 37%. Plummer secured the Democratic nomination by narrowly defeating former Houston mayor Annise Parker in the May runoff after advancing from the March primary, while Sanchez won the Republican side decisively. Recent exchanges between the candidates on taxes and disaster response have not shifted positioning ahead of the November 3 general election. Trader consensus reflects these structural and polling factors, though shifts in turnout among key voting blocs or late developments in the broader political environment could still narrow the gap before ballots are cast.
