The 2026-27 NB I runner-up race remains wide open in pre-season trader consensus, with a broad group of clubs priced near even money reflecting similar implied probabilities. Győri ETO’s surprise 2025-26 title—edging Ferencváros by a single point—has reset expectations, yet Ferencváros retains the strongest projected squad depth and European experience heading into the new campaign. Mid-table sides from last season, including Puskás Akadémia, Paksi SE, Debrecen, Zalaegerszeg, Újpest, and MTK, enter with comparable recent form, squad stability, and home/away records that keep any single challenger from pulling clear. No dominant favorite has emerged in early modeling or transfer activity, leaving the second-place battle highly competitive and sensitive to early results, injuries, and tactical adjustments once the fixture list begins.
