The 2026–27 Betway Premiership features unusual parity for the runner-up spot, with trader consensus clustering multiple sides near even implied probabilities after Orlando Pirates claimed the title last season to snap Mamelodi Sundowns’ eight-year run. Early fixtures show Pirates, Kaizer Chiefs and AmaZulu each collecting maximum points from their opening three matches, while Sekhukhune United and Milford sit close behind on six points, underscoring how quickly form, squad depth and CAF schedule demands can shift positions. Pre-season transfers, coaching continuity and the absence of a dominant side have kept the chase for second wide open among established clubs and ambitious mid-table outfits alike.
