The Billboard Hot 100 contest for the number two position the week of August 15 shows tight competition, with Ariana Grande’s “hate that i made you love me” at 38% and Olivia Rodrigo’s “Drop Dead” at 37% leading market-implied odds. Traders are balancing streaming velocity, radio adds, and fan-driven consumption patterns for both tracks against challengers including Ella Langley’s country-leaning releases and established names like Taylor Swift and Morgan Wallen. Chart trajectory hinges on combined sales, streaming, and airplay data, with recent promotional timing and platform metrics creating the current deadlock. The next Billboard update cycle remains the key near-term catalyst that could break the tie.
