Canada's loaded roster, highlighted by recent additions like Sidney Crosby alongside Macklin Celebrini, Connor McDavid, and Nathan MacKinnon, has solidified its position as the frontrunner in the 2026 IIHF World Championship. This depth in experience and skill explains the strong trader consensus around its implied probability, especially after strong early tournament results. Switzerland benefits from home-ice advantage in Zurich and Fribourg, supporting its competitive standing amid a balanced group stage. Finland draws support from its reliable international pedigree and recent form, while the United States, as 2025 defending champion, and Sweden face tougher odds due to roster availability during the NHL postseason. These factors shape the current market positioning ahead of quarterfinals.
