Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from Israel and Indonesia, however a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.**Indonesia maintains no formal diplomatic relations with Israel as of August 2026, consistent with its long-standing position that normalization requires prior Israeli recognition of a sovereign Palestinian state under a two-state solution.** President Prabowo Subianto has signaled modest rhetorical flexibility, including a September 2025 UN General Assembly statement acknowledging Israel’s right to security, while repeating the core condition in May 2025 and subsequent statements. Quiet bilateral trade has grown (Indonesian exports to Israel rose notably in 2025), and both countries participate in the U.S.-backed Board of Peace overseeing Gaza ceasefire implementation, though Jakarta explicitly states this does not constitute diplomatic recognition or normalization. Recent August 2026 joint statements with other nations condemning Israeli settlement expansion in the West Bank further underscore the domestic and regional constraints. U.S. incentives tied to OECD accession and Abraham Accords expansion have been discussed but remain conditioned on Palestinian progress, with no confirmed high-level visits or formal agreements advancing. Trader assessments therefore hinge primarily on developments in Gaza/Palestine diplomacy and any shift in Jakarta’s public stance.
