Incumbent Keelung Mayor Hsieh Kuo-liang holds an 85% implied probability as the KMT nominee seeking re-election in the November 28, 2026 local elections, reflecting his established local support base and survival of a 2024 recall vote. DPP challenger Tung Tzu-wei trails at 9%, consistent with polling trends that show Hsieh maintaining a lead despite one recent survey indicating a narrow margin and elevated undecided voters. Candidate registration opens later this month, and KMT organizational efforts across northern Taiwan races reinforce trader consensus around the incumbent's advantages in name recognition and party machinery ahead of the vote.
