Paris Saint-Germain enter the 2026-27 Ligue 1 campaign as five-time defending champions following their 2025-26 title and recent Champions League success, backed by superior squad depth, financial resources from ownership, and coaching stability under Luis Enrique. This structural edge over clubs like Marseille, Monaco, Lens, and Lille has produced overwhelming trader consensus around an 86.5% implied probability for PSG to claim a sixth straight title. Limited roster turnover among rivals and the absence of comparable investment keep the field at long odds. Late-season injuries to PSG's core, a prolonged dip in form, or an unlikely sustained challenge from multiple sides could narrow the gap, though historical patterns show such shifts rarely sustain across a full 34-match schedule.
