Incumbent KMT magistrate Hsu Shu-hua holds a commanding position in the Nantou County magistrate race ahead of the November 28, 2026, local elections, driven by her established local record since taking office in 2022 and the party's formal nomination in July 2026. Recent developments highlight sustained governance approval ratings and unified KMT organizational support across townships, with opponent Wen Shih-cheng positioned as the primary DPP challenger but facing structural headwinds in a county where KMT candidates have maintained consistent advantages. Trader consensus reflected in the pricing accounts for these factors, including the absence of major recent disruptions or scandals. Potential shifts could arise from unexpected turnout changes, late policy controversies, or health-related developments within the final campaign window.
