Georgia enters the 2026 season with the strongest returning defensive production and depth among contenders, featuring multiple former five-star talents and eight starters back from a unit that limited opponents to under 300 yards per game in 2025. This positions the Bulldogs as the slight favorite in trader pricing. Ohio State, Oregon, Notre Dame, and Indiana follow closely, each bolstered by experienced front sevens, secondary continuity, and schematic familiarity despite some personnel turnover from prior campaigns. Texas Tech and others add further parity through portal additions and young standouts. The tight spread reflects comparable talent levels across these programs heading into fall camp, with final defensive rankings likely hinging on early-season execution and injury resilience across the Power conferences.
