In South Africa's upcoming 4 November 2026 local government elections, Tshwane's mayoral outcome hinges on coalition negotiations after polling, as no single party is expected to secure an outright council majority. Cilliers Brink, the DA's returning candidate who previously served until removed via motion of no confidence in 2024, trades near 47% amid efforts to highlight service delivery failures under the current multi-party arrangement. Incumbent Nasiphi Moya of ActionSA, elected in October 2024 following an alliance shift that sidelined the prior DA-led coalition, sits around 27.5% while campaigning on infrastructure and revenue initiatives. Lower-priced contenders including EFF's Omphile Maotwe reflect party-specific support, with the broad field of listed options at 50% underscoring uncertainty over final coalition alignments and swing councillor backing that could determine the executive mayor.
