Chen Chen-chung leads the Penghu County magistrate race with implied trader consensus at 59 percent ahead of the November 28, 2026 election, driven by the Kuomintang’s formal nomination of the township head in April 2026 and efforts to consolidate non-DPP support against an independent challenger. Incumbent Chen Kuang-fu’s March 2026 health scare and pledge to run have kept the field fragmented, with Wu Shu-chin and smaller candidates holding lower shares amid local factional dynamics typical of Penghu contests. The crowded slate of independents and potential vote splitting maintains tightness at the top, while upcoming party coordination talks or primary polling could shift probabilities if they unify opposition blocs before the vote.
