Early positioning for Sonora's 2027 gubernatorial election features a fragmented field of more than two dozen declared or potential candidates across Morena, PAN, PRI, and other parties, with no nominee selected yet. Trader consensus reflects this uncertainty, assigning the highest shares to Omar del Valle Colosio at 32% while clustering several others between 24% and 27.5%. Recent early surveys from groups such as Electoralia and Rubrum show similar dispersion in voter intention, driven by party internal processes, regional issues like border security and economic development, and the absence of decisive polling or endorsements. Upcoming party conventions and candidate registration deadlines through late 2026 could consolidate support and widen gaps among contenders.
