The open field for the Waratah-Wynyard mayoral race, with incumbent Mary Duniam retiring ahead of the October 27, 2026 Tasmanian local government elections, keeps trader consensus fragmented across numerous candidates priced at 50%. Sitting councillors including Dillon Roberts, Leanne Raw, and Michael Johnstone have declared interest, alongside lower-priced contenders such as Chloe Foster, while nominations open September 7. Recent council actions on the 2026-27 budget, rates, and interim CEO transition have not yet produced clear frontrunners or major endorsements, leaving probabilities closely matched. Developments such as formal candidate announcements, local polling, or campaign positioning in the coming weeks could shift the implied probabilities reflected in current market pricing.
