Carlos Alcaraz remains sidelined by a right wrist injury sustained in April at the Barcelona Open, missing the remainder of the clay and grass seasons plus recent Masters 1000 events. The world No. 2 is listed in the 2026 US Open draw beginning August 30 and has prioritized full recovery over a Cincinnati return, focusing on gradual intensity increases in training. This extended layoff limits match fitness ahead of best-of-five-set matches, prompting public advice from former players to consider skipping the event entirely. Winston-Salem offers a potential late tune-up starting August 23, yet no confirmation has emerged. Trader consensus at 68.5% for participation reflects the defending champion’s intent to compete while incorporating the substantial uncertainty tied to his recovery timeline and recent withdrawals.

Carlos Alcaraz is considered to have "played" if he takes the court and play begins in any of his main-draw singles matches. Being entered in the draw, or an opponent's retirement or walkover before any play begins, does not by itself count as having played. If Alcaraz begins a match and then retires or is defaulted, this market will resolve "Yes."
If the tournament is postponed beyond September 27, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or canceled before Alcaraz plays a main-draw singles match, this market will resolve "No."
The resolution source for this market will be official information from the US Open (usopen.org); however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
