Recent code leaks revealing four Steam Machine SKUs—including a base 512GB model and bundles with the Steam Controller—have driven the 74% market-implied odds for a $700+ launch price, as dataminers and supply chain reports suggest $700-$800 starting tags amid a global DDR5 memory crisis that quadrupled RAM costs since the November 2025 announcement. Valve's semi-custom AMD Zen 4 CPU and RDNA 3 GPU (RX 7600-equivalent) deliver console-competitive 1080p/60fps performance on SteamOS, justifying premium pricing over the Steam Deck despite anti-scalping reservations. Traders anticipate an imminent official reveal in coming weeks, potentially shifting sentiment if Valve opts for loss-leader tactics to undercut PS5 pricing.
