Valve recently reworked and added Cache to CS2’s Competitive, Casual, Deathmatch, and Retakes modes following a full Source 2 overhaul released on April 28, 2026. The map, absent from the active duty pool since 2019, now sits one step from Premier rotation, with traders watching Valve’s seasonal update cadence and post-major schedule. Community feedback and pro sentiment favor a swap for an aging map like Inferno, while Valve’s history of aligning pool changes with events such as the upcoming IEM Cologne Major points to a likely late-July window. Roster form, viewer interest, and workshop iteration speed remain secondary variables that could accelerate or delay full integration into the official competitive map pool.
