Valve added the reworked Cache map to CS2's Competitive, Casual, Deathmatch, and Retakes modes in late April 2026 after acquiring full rights from creator FMPONE in 2025, yet it remains outside the seven-map Active Duty pool used for Premier matchmaking and pro play. Trader sentiment centers on Valve's established six-month rotation cadence, with the most recent shift occurring in January 2026 ahead of Premier Season 4. Community expectations point toward a potential Active Duty addition after the IEM Cologne Major later in 2026, possibly displacing a lower-played map like Train or Ancient based on feedback and usage data. No official timeline has been confirmed, leaving outcomes dependent on Valve's internal testing and seasonal updates.
