Maximilian Marterer faces Daniel Masur in the ITF M25 Ueberlingen on clay, a $25,000 event where both Germans hold strong ties. Marterer, a former world No. 45 returning from a ten-month injury absence, received a wildcard and opened with a three-set win over Aaron Funk, emphasizing his desire for ranking points on familiar soil. Masur, ranked around No. 380 and seeded second as a prior tournament champion, advanced comfortably against Calvin Mueller and maintains superior 2026 results across surfaces. Marterer holds a 2-1 head-to-head edge, including a dominant 2024 clay victory, yet Masur’s steadier recent form, higher ranking, and local event success shape the matchup dynamics on this slow surface.
