The Chicago White Sox hold a narrow 2.5-game lead in the AL Central over the Detroit Tigers heading into their series at Comerica Park, with Chicago at 62-58 and Detroit at 60-61. Recent momentum favors the Tigers, who have posted a 7-3 mark in their last ten games while the White Sox have gone 4-6, tightening the division race and heightening focus on home-field advantages, starting pitching matchups, and bullpen depth. Chicago’s road struggles and multiple pitcher injuries on the IL contrast with Detroit’s improved form and potential roster availability, factors traders weigh alongside historical head-to-head trends and the implications for playoff positioning. Late-August schedule density adds another layer as both clubs navigate rest and recent performance.
