The Milwaukee Brewers enter the late-August series at Citi Field with the best record in the National League at 79-49, holding a 5.5-game lead in the NL Central behind a pitching staff that ranks among baseball’s best in ERA and strikeout rate. The Mets sit at 58-70, 17 games back in the NL East, though they have posted a stronger recent stretch with improved bullpen work. Key Brewers arms including Abner Uribe remain on the injured list with expected returns around the series dates, while New York’s lineup has shown inconsistency against strong division opponents. Historical results from the July meetings favored Milwaukee in two of three games, reinforcing the current market pricing that reflects the Brewers’ superior depth and sustained form heading into the road set.
