The St. Louis Cardinals host the Pittsburgh Pirates at Busch Stadium with right-hander Kyle Leahy (10-4, 3.13 ERA) taking the ball against a Pirates staff that has leaned on a bullpen game or opener-bulk approach. Pittsburgh enters the matchup at 65-71, fourth in the NL Central, while the Cardinals sit at 68-68 in third place; both clubs carry multiple key absences, including Pirates starters Mitch Keller and position players Ryan O’Hearn and Endy Rodríguez, plus Cardinals shortstop Masyn Winn. Recent offensive struggles have limited the Pirates to minimal run support, and St. Louis has taken six of the first eight meetings this season. Home-field factors, Leahy’s innings-eating ability, and Pittsburgh’s depleted lineup shape the current market consensus around a closely contested NL Central matchup.
