The St. Louis Cardinals enter their upcoming series against the Cincinnati Reds at Great American Ball Park holding a modest edge in the NL Central standings at 62-61 compared to the Reds' 59-63 mark. Both clubs sit well back of division leaders but remain in the broader wild-card conversation, with the Cardinals arriving after a recent win over the Cubs and the Reds following a loss. A rescheduled doubleheader highlights the tight August schedule, where pitching matchups, bullpen depth, and any late injury updates—particularly around Cardinals' roster concerns like knee and ankle issues—could shift momentum. Home/away splits and recent interleague form against divisional opponents further inform trader views on series outcomes.
