A crowded field of more than two dozen registered candidates for Arequipa's October 4, 2026 mayoral election has produced closely matched trader odds, with Ricardo Alfredo Ramírez del Villar Llosa leading at 36% followed by Elmer Ángel Acero Bruna at 31.5% and several others in the 20-30% range. Official candidate lists published by Peru's JNE and ongoing local polling reflect fragmented support across regional movements focused on infrastructure, water management, and economic priorities in the province. With no dominant frontrunner emerging in recent months, the wisdom of crowds captured in current pricing highlights uncertainty over which contender can consolidate backing before election day. Scheduled debates, late endorsements, or shifts in turnout among key districts could quickly alter relative probabilities in this multi-candidate contest.
