Recent polls show Berlin's CDU hovering near 19-20% ahead of the September 20 state election, placing it in a fragmented field where Die Linke, AfD, Greens, and SPD each poll between 13-19%. The incumbent CDU-SPD coalition lacks a majority in current surveys, while the July replacement of lead candidate Kai Wegner by Stefan Evers has coincided with modest CDU softening and Linke gains. Proportional seat allocation, overhang rules, and turnout variability in a multi-party contest keep projected CDU totals tightly clustered around 25-34 seats. Modest shifts in any major party's support or coalition signaling before election day could widen or narrow those ranges.
